Music Surrounds Us

Music Surrounds Us

Good morning music lovers. Today I write to you by using a quote as to why music in general is so important. People may think that we are crazy for having a deep love for music, but no it is not. Music allows us to express ourselves in more ways than one. There is always that perfect song that fits whatever mood we are in. Whether we are happy and we listen to Pharrell William’s “Happy” or we are sad and listen to “Somewhere Only We Know”.

Yet music is all around us besides just on the charts and on the radio. You can hear music in the mountains, in the ocean, in the trees, and on the streets. Music is the air blowing at your ears singing you a sweet melody. Or it can be the rustling of leaves falling together in the crisp autumn air. It can be the waves crashing down to sing you the ocean’s song. It can be the horns you hear, people shouting, and feet walking you hear in the city.

Normally, we do not categorize these sounds as music, but if you listen closely, you can hear nature’s songs in more ways than one.

Today I challenge you. I challenge you to turn off your radios, put your iPods away, close your eyes and just listen. Listen to the sounds around you and feel the harmony escalade in your blood stream. Take a moment for yourself, and just listen. When you listen, you will hear the songs that have been playing for you your whole life, and sometimes all of us need to take a step back and appreciate all the little things in life, which is nature’s song.

So until next time, dance, live, and love music.
